Lansing got hit pretty hard last night with a nasty storm. This is the scene outside of my house right now, super gnarly. We were up at 6:30 cutting branches and clearing our driveway so that we could go get gas to run the generator. Oh yeah, the trees fell right onto the power, cable/Internet, and telephone wires, and ripped the power lines clean off the street pole. Now it’s a waiting game. Coincidentally enough, we are on a different grid from most of the streets nearby and would have kept power had a tree not killed our lines. I can’t complain too much though, the tree missed our garage and house, and about the entire town is without power, so we’re not in this alone. So while I wait for power, I’ll be checking out the latest issue of Dig, which is super dialed and has a vibe more like the older issues had.
