It’s been warm out the past week or so, and I know I’m happy to see some warmer weather. I guess riding every day and having fun has actually led me to not be doing media duty (or anyone for that matter) recently. Actually, we have been on media duty, but it has been for something I will mention later in the post.
SPRFLS is a new blog ripping on all the new “innovations” and trends in BMX. I have pretty much agreed with every post. Site is hilarious, definitely worth a read.
One of my favorite sections in a video. Actually, it was my favorite section in the new Shook, Like Totally! Ross said it best, sometimes riding as actually about having fun and not all about business.
Back to Crossroads news. Filming for the full length has officially started and certain people have been throwing down. We’re hoping to fire out Random 7 and Random 8 before the slow up of videos.
In other crew news:
I’ve been working and riding. And digging at the trails. Ross has been falling asleep after saying he’s coming out to the trails. Collin, the kid with no brakes and a freecoaster has been putting in work at the trails. Jeremy has been dominating crab legs at the Trap. Steve and Cameron are standing up in their friend Vince’s wedding this weekend, congrats to him. Don’t get too smashed so that you can’t ride Sunday. Drew wants 100 kids at the Mich City jam. Billy’s back to work and is not as graceful with the crab legs as Jeremy. Timmy 180d the Lansing box backwards to flat. And for the rest…I have no clue what’s going on. Hopefully that changes soon.
Gnarstock went fairly well, there were about 30 people there (people and riders) over the course of the day, which is pretty good for Lansing skatepark. Eric took a ton of photos with the camera, so check them out.
You may have noticed the new blog layout (Actually I hope you noticed the new blog layout, it’s very different). I like it better, I think it looks better than the old blog site. This will be the basic look for the new website, I’m in the process of gathering images and content for the new site. So if the site seems constantly changing, this is the reason for that.
Some key things to point out: 1. You can search for old items by typing in keywords into the search bar above and clicking go. 2. There is a link to the Flickr site on the right hand corner under the “Other” section. There will be more stuff added there in the future. 3. You can add this blog to your RSS feed, if you are into that sort of thing.
Hope you like the changes, and look out for changes in the future. I’m serious this time.
Not much has been going on in the lives of Crossroads. Collin and Ross are still gone, as well as Jeremy and Zach, who are in Ohio for the weekend. I’ve been shredding with a lot of different riders lately, all on Crossroads. Timmy and Dante were pretty fun though, Timmy was riding pegs for the first time in a while, which prompted this: Timmy tries an icepick stall on the six foot and misses his peg.
Dante: That’s right, that’s your bike sayin’, “bitch, you ain’t rode pegs in two years!”.
Anyway, I thought it was pretty good, and I’m sure you can imagine the incident. Not too much crazy stuff has been happening, just nice, chill sessions, which is always fun. I’m out though, doing some work on the new website! No release date yet, just the name: Crossroads V6.2. So anticipate that!
Collin and Ross are off on their California trip right now. In the meantime, behind their backs, I am planning on replacing these guys. Who needs a nasty ginger and a kid who can do alien clean whips and looks like a comic book character anyway? No one needs that on a team, its just bad news. There were some rad kids up at the skatepark the other day, one of whom talked down to Stevie; I think I might put them on the team to replace Ross and Collin. Continue Reading »
