The Crossroads Zine

the zine

You can find out all about the zine by looking at it: The Crossroads BMX Zine.

It’s going to be a lot easier to update than the last one. I’ll put up a button on the right side fairly soon, as well as some new pages.

Note: The quality looks terrible initially, but if you click on the 1:1 button, the actual size will appear, which is full quality. Hopefully you like it.

Transitional Period

Crossroads is going a kind of transitional period right now. I’ll get into detail.

First off is the new website look. Not much has changed layout wise really, except for one column becoming skinnier and one becoming fatter. The look is a little different…there is a background gradient, new header image, and Google Ad Sense. I figured that since running this site is coming out of my pocket, trying to recur the website cost might make a little sense. If you are on the page and want to search for something on the internet, just click on the google bar and search, it will open up a Google results page in a new window. Also there are ads on the side too, if they are clicked on, a small amount of money is put back into the site. I know these ads look kind of shitty sitting on top of the sidebar as they currently do, but there will be some promotional graphics above them in the upcoming days that will make things look a little better.

Oh yeah, the other website sections are not gone forever, they just looked awful and I couldn’t stand to keep them up looking like that.

Second, is our online magazine coming out very soon. I need to wrap up one more article, take some photos, and I’m off to layout and put everything together. It’s got some Crossroads stuff in it, as well as some non-Crossroads stuff in it that I am really excited about. Plus you will be able to “thumb” through it like on Grindstate’s website or the Altamont Look Books.

Second is the full length video, its been going very very slowly but we’re getting on that soon. And starting a full length in mid November is not the smartest idea, but we’re still going through with it.

There is another project coming together that I don’t really want to talk about right now. Everything for it is going as planned, but I don’t want to put my foot in my mouth if it doesn’t. If everything comes together, it will be very cool.

Enjoy the last days of riding outside before we are pushed indoors to (…gulp)Krush.

Despite rumors (many of which came from AED riders and were passed along by several people, unfortunately and most likely by myself included), AED is not dead. Bob had this to say:

Man o’ Man. I heard it through the grape vine that AED is no more. Lol. It’s almost winter. The weather sucks. And hey there is only one indoor park in the area that is hardly bike friendly. So, yeah most of us have been taking it easy but there are winter trips on the drawing board. And come spring and summer everyone will be back at it full force! Repost this Andy! Make sure everyone knows. Who knows maybe we’ll have something new for you earlier than you think.

There you have it. AED will return.
