Just a reminder that our jam is still being held on May 4th, which is not this Sunday, but next Sunday. It’ll be at 2:00PM and go until the lights go off (around 9:00PM I guess).
I know I said there would be certain prizes and whatnot for high air and rippers at the jam, but due to certain factors, this probably won’t be happening. This really shouldn’t matter though, just come out and have a blast anyway. I still want to have high air and stuff like that, so come out and have fun with it.
One of the guys who runs this site, Ryan Capranica, e-mailed me a while ago telling me about his site, and was kind enough to link to our site. I forgot to link back, even after telling him I would. So check out this winter edit from the guys of the 217, from Central Illinois. Cool edit, and I hope you guys survived the earthquake alright.
It’s been warm out the past week or so, and I know I’m happy to see some warmer weather. I guess riding every day and having fun has actually led me to not be doing media duty (or anyone for that matter) recently. Actually, we have been on media duty, but it has been for something I will mention later in the post.
SPRFLS is a new blog ripping on all the new “innovations” and trends in BMX. I have pretty much agreed with every post. Site is hilarious, definitely worth a read.
One of my favorite sections in a video. Actually, it was my favorite section in the new Shook, Like Totally! Ross said it best, sometimes riding as actually about having fun and not all about business.
Back to Crossroads news. Filming for the full length has officially started and certain people have been throwing down. We’re hoping to fire out Random 7 and Random 8 before the slow up of videos.
In other crew news:
I’ve been working and riding. And digging at the trails. Ross has been falling asleep after saying he’s coming out to the trails. Collin, the kid with no brakes and a freecoaster has been putting in work at the trails. Jeremy has been dominating crab legs at the Trap. Steve and Cameron are standing up in their friend Vince’s wedding this weekend, congrats to him. Don’t get too smashed so that you can’t ride Sunday. Drew wants 100 kids at the Mich City jam. Billy’s back to work and is not as graceful with the crab legs as Jeremy. Timmy 180d the Lansing box backwards to flat. And for the rest…I have no clue what’s going on. Hopefully that changes soon.
Jeremy and I hit up a super early session downtown this morning and only got a couple clips, oh well. We had a good time cruising around with our buddy Bob. The day was gorgeous so we had a good time overall cruising around the Northside bowl. Jeremy almost removed the head of a kid who thought it was a good idea to put his head into his front wheel (nearly).
Some more team updates:
Cameron and Steve went skydiving today but Cameron stayed on the ground. Steve left Jeremy a voicemail saying something like “Hey buddy, I just jumped out of a perfectly good airplane, call me!” Good stuff.
Collin was very mad about missing out on the awesome day because he had to work. He has been heard yelling at Ross over the phone, saying “The kid with no brakes and a freecoaster is at the trails, get your ass out here and dig!” Collin’s been awesome with digging so far, and keeps Ross’s and my ideas grounded.
Ross has been digging like a madman along with me at the trails. We’re about halfway done with the digging part of the main (and only) line. The trails are going to be awesome this year, and will be even better if more people actually show up.
And I honestly have no clue what is going on with anyone else, so those are the updates you are going to get as of now.
Crossroads Updates
Michigan City Jam is May 4th…there may or may not be an person to announce the jam (ie talk shit about everyone there and make people laugh), so hopefully that goes through. We know it would be sweet if it happened.
Our shirts are for sale, buy one so we can make more. I intend to have more Crossroads BMX propaganda on the streets this summer, should be good.
Get out to the trails and dig…The trails are going to be easier than jumping the box jump at Lansing, so why still ride there? No skateboards in the forest, no annoying little kids…trails will be boss this year.
